And SERVICES

The description of products and services will include the features, benefits, and future of your proposed products and services. The description of products will include the benefits to your customers and any plans you have for future products and services. Under the proprietary aspects of description of products you will describe the products that make your business unique. You will also discuss the competition for your described products. You will describe the stage of development and your production plan in this section.

Features of Proposed Products

Give a sample of your proposed menu. How many teas will you offer? What types of sandwiches, baked goods, scones, condiments, salads, etc. will you have?

Will you have retail? What will you be selling?

Benefits to Customers

What benefits will you customers derive from coming to you tea business? Why should they choose you over other businesses? For instance, having the gift shop will give your customers a good selection of tea items which other stores in your area may not carry. That would make you unique.

Proprietary Aspects of Products

Is your business unique in that it serves tea in the English Tradition or because pots of tea are served to each customer? How are you different from other competitors around you? What is your competition?

Stage of Development/Production Plan

What stage of development are you in as you write this business plan. You may already be up and running.

Future Products or Services

Because there is a life cycle for products and because customers’ tastes are ever changing, it is important to listen to customers to see what they want. What are your future plans for your business? This section gives you the opportunity to be creative in the description of products. You can make yours unique by the features, future and proprietary aspects of your products and services. Be sure to list all the benefits of tea that your customers will receive. For most of you the state of development will be the startup stage.

Section 2 The background information should include your Mission Statement, your business goals and objectives, and a general description of your business.

Section 4 Management Structure and Organization The Management Structure and Organization section includes the form of ownership, personnel, organizational chart, and outside services and advisors.

Section 5 Marketing Plan The marketing plan includes market strategies, target markets, current and future trends, and marketing tactics.

Section 6 Financial Plan The financial plan section includes startup costs, cash flow projections, Sales and expenses estimates, and financial needs.

Section 7 Conclusion The conclusion will include a feasibility statement and and action plan.

Business Plan A business plan is critical when opening a tea room and will help you to begin maximizing your profits. Keeping expenses down, especially startup costs, will give you extra cash later.
